This webinar conversation is the third in our Freckle Report series where we learn the answer to the question "Where did you get that book...?"
In October 2021, the Freckle Report asked Americans whether they read, in what format, and from where did they get their book(s) as a 6-month follow-up to their April 2021 survey. That survey was itself a follow-up to an April 2019 sample that asked the same key question. The three surveys have allowed the Freckle Report to track how reading habits have changed during the pandemic. They show a dramatic shift in the method of reading and how that has affected the place from which books are obtained.

Among the remarkable results are a major shift towards eBooks and audio, and a new transition for children away from print material that had not been seen before the lockdowns. The survey also shows high levels of satisfaction with the public library service and especially with library websites and apps.
The presentation concludes with observations and suggestions about how these findings will affect public libraries and their suppliers and where they might focus in the coming months.
