"This is groceries for me and my family"

The "Help a Library Worker Out" Fund has raised and distributed over $22,000 to help over 100 library workers, librarians, and staff in 22 states who need a little financial help during these trying times.

The "Help a Library Worker Out" Fund has raised and distributed over $22,000 to help over 100 library workers, librarians, and staff in 22 states who need a little financial help during these trying times.

With news from places like Moline, IL where the city council furloughed the entire library staff or Cuyahoga, OH where more than 300 library workers have been laid off or furloughed, we know the need is real.

We already have another 200 library workers in the HALO queue and we are almost out of money. I'm writing today to ask for your help - if you can - to support more library workers who need a hand. Can you donate today so we can continue this critically important work for our colleagues across the country?

HALO Grants aren't large, but they do make a difference to people in a crisis-moment. We're sending out between $200 and $250 per household. This is a bridge for folks who need it. And it's been very helpful:

"This is groceries for my family until unemployment starts." - SC

"This will help me cover the cost of my medications while my library is closed. I'm only part-time so I don't have insurance to help. - DB"

"This donation will be such a blessing in my life this week. I truly appreciate it." - KS

I'm grateful to our vendor partners who have sponsored Matching Challenges over the last two weeks. We could not have made the first 100+ Grants without Zoobean, Brainfuse, Gale Public Libraries, QuiPu Group, WT Cox, PIKinc, and Tappe Architects matching individual donors to take care of the people who run our libraries. It's this kind of commitment across our whole library ecosystem that matters most now.

Your donation is tax-deductible and will go out within 24 hours to colleagues from public libraries, school libraries, and academic libraries who need a little financial help in this crisis.

If you can join us and make a tax-deductible contribution today, we'll put it right to work and into the hands of colleagues who need it.

Thanks for considering your own ability to answer this call to donate today.
