Join the EveryLibrary Institute for a discussion of a new report by Ithaka S+R about the censorship landscape for academic libraries. The Ithaka S+R team conducted interviews with 15 deans, directors, and university librarians in fall 2023. They found that academic library collections were not being directly censored by policy or subject to large-scale, systematic content challenges, yet they also found that the policy and political climate was influencing collection development practices, as well as staff morale and talent management. We will discuss how this emerging policy landscape and rapidly evolving political climate are impacting the research libraries of public universities.
Discussion Panel:
Roger C. Schonfeld, Vice President, Organizational Strategy / ITHAKA, Libraries, Scholarly Communication, and Museums / Ithaka S+R
Ess Pokornowski, Senior Analyst, Libraries, Scholarly Communication, and Museums / Ithaka S+R
